Knicks Clinics create an opportunity for players ages 6-17 to participate and learn the concepts of Knicks basketball and develop their game. Clinics focus on helping athletes improve their skills and develop their talent by learning basic practice drills and emphasizing the fundamentals. Clinics include:

Want to improve your skills and fundamentals and learn from the best in the sport? The New York Knicks and our youth partner Basketball IQ are offering an upcoming Spring Youth Basketball Skills Clinic. This clinic creates an opportunity for coed players, ages 7-17 to participate and learn the concepts of Knicks basketball, develop their game, and prepare for the upcoming basketball season. Clinics focus on helping athletes improve their skills and develop their talent by learning basic practice drills and emphasizing the fundamentals.

WHO CAN ATTEND: Boys & Girls ages 7-17, grouped by age/skill

WHERE: MSG Training Center, Tarrytown, NY

Knicks Basketball Clinics
PAST CLINICS:
January 30, 2012 – The Knicks conducted a basketball clinic for NBA FIT Live Healthy Week at Madison Square Garden Training Center in Westchester for one hundred children comprised of participants from the Garden of Dreams, Season Subscriber and local youth basketball groups. NBA Fit Team member Carmelo Anthony lead the event with his team mates Tyson Chandler, Amar’e Stoudemire, Iman Shumpert, Josh Harrelson and Renaldo Balkman and Knicks alumni Cal Ramsey. . December 20, 2011 – Alumni Earl Monroe, Walt Frazier, John Starks and Knicks Carmelo Anthony, Iman Shumpert, Josh Harrellson and Jared Jeffries appeared at the Knicks Home for the Holiday’s Youth Clinic presented by Chase at Trinity High School in Manhattan. The Knicks participated by teaching basketball fundamentals and spreading holiday cheer for 100 underprivileged children including some kids from the Garden of Dreams Foundation. All participants were given tickets for their families to attend Knicks vs. Celtics home opener as well as t-shirts, towels, posters and autographs. December 14, 2011 – The New York Knicks and youth partners Rising Stars and LuHi Summer Programs held a skills clinic at Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, Long Island. 100 Clinic participants including parents and children learned the fundamentals of basketball from the Knicks clinic staff. Guest appearances were made by Knicks Alumni Walt Clyde Frazier, John Starks and John Wallace who stayed for pictures and autographs. November 30, 2011 – The New York Knicks held a skills clinic at the Madison Square Garden Training Center for 80 co-ed children from the Garden of Dreams Foundation and the Carver Center. Knicks assistant coaches Kenny Atkinson and Herb Williams were on hand to help the participants improve upon their basketball fundamentals and discussed the importance of healthy lifestyles.

November 17, 2011 - The New York Knicks and youth partner Basketball IQ from Westchester held a skills clinic at Madison Square Garden Training Center. 75 co-ed children ages 8-14 took part in offensive skill development and defensive fundamentals. The clinic featured drill instruction from Knicks Assistant Coaches Phil Weber and Kenny Atkinson and also included appearances by Knicks Legends Cal Ramsey and Walt “Clyde” Frazier. Photos and autographs with the coaches and Knicks Legends took place after the clinic for all participants. Check out a video of the event and a photo gallery of all the action.

November 16, 2011 - The New York Knicks and youth partner ADHoops produced a clinic in Brooklyn at Bishop Ford High School for 50 co-ed children, ages 9-14. The clinic was led by Knicks Assistant Coach Kenny Atkinson and featured Knicks alumni John Wallace & Charles Smith who assisted in drill stations and stayed afterwards for photos and autographs. The clinic focused on basic offensive skill development as well as the importance of team play. VIDEO
